Birth Story

Aiden's Birth: 01/12/2011

On Wednesday, January 11, 2011, I went to my regurlar OBGYN appointment, at 39 weeks. Dr. Webb did an ultrasound, and it showed there was a lot of fluid around the baby, so he decided the best thing to do was to induce! My husband and I thought we would have an extra week! We weren't ready! But, I was so tired of carrying around that huge belly & was ready to see my baby! The hopsital is connected to the dr's office, so we just walked. My husband went to get some food for himself, I wasn't allowed to eat.
So the first dose of pitocin started at noon, and 16 hours later, the life we created was born! He arrived at 4:14 AM at 7 pounds & 6 ounces & 20 inches long!

But let's back up a little bit... I've heard that when you're induced its much more painful & BOY do I hope that is true for the next rounds! I don't think I was fully prepared for the pain i endured. The plan was no epidural, until I felt like I absoulutely had to, & I had to! Well the nurse was a total crazy-person! She kept telling me "PUSH! PUSH!! if you dont push-were going to have to take necessary measures to ensure your baby's safety! so PUSH!" I wanted to SLAP that woman!
My husband was AMAZING. He kept encouraging me, telling me how great I was doing & that he loved me! I never once wanted to hit him in the face! The only people in the room with me were my mom & my husband, who was actually my boyfriend at the time.
Once Aiden's head was showing the doctor came, and helped me with the rest!

I hear everyones birth story & I don't feel like mine was all magical- which is probably the reality. I don't think I will ever get an epidural again, I felt so drugged up, and can't remember a lot of it.

But I did amazing, because I had a baby, my sweet, sweet baby!
